Surgery Procedures

Surgery could appear to be a rather invasive procedure and we do it with loving kindness. For a happier outcome, the details matter. We abhor the git-r-done principle, we don’t git-r-done, we walk through it mindfully! A well performed surgery is like Beethoven's 6th , not a death-metal band.

When I was “growing up” many moons ago, there was a saying amongst veterinarians, if a dog wakes up as soon as the surgery is done, that is  good anesthesia.  That is not quite a (w)holistic approach. While it is convenient for the surgeon and  staff to go onto other tasks, we believe that a pet waking up slowly over several hours while someone is watching over the pet is a more wholesome approach.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       (well, you should get a chance to meet the team and ask them questions), and it is free!  We go over the surgery consent form and send you home with free pre-surgery medications to be given the night before and the morning of the surgery which makes them relax and be less anxious as they come in for surgery. Because we want to minimize your dog's stress, we schedule our surgery drop off time so that you can sit with your dogs while we give the anesthetic injection and they fall asleep for surgery. No waiting alone in a cage, they go straight into surgery. Cats have a cozy safe kennel to await surgery.

Then as the pets are waking up from surgery, we do everything possible to make the process smoother by giving them microdose of sedative and pain medication. All pets go home the same day with two different kinds of pain medications that compliment each other for better pain control. We offer additional choices like Intravenous fluid, pre op blood work, dremeled nails and e-collars to go home. We are available after hours by text to answer any questions or concerns you may have about  your pet's recovery.

We do only a few surgeries in a day and we are detail oriented! On top of that, we are thorough with our pain control protocols; before, during and after surgery.  Along with modern pharmaceutical drugs, we also use homeopathic medications and essential oils during the anesthesia recovery
Our surgery price includes a free pre-surgery examination
